10 Mile Race Pace

What started out as a terrible run ended up propping me back up by the end. Matt and I did a 10 mile loop run (basically looks like an out and back) running the first five miles into the 30mph wind. It was impossible to stay near my 1/2 mar. goal pace of 9:00/mi. After the turn, it felt warmer and we cruised, the wind gently nudging us along...and by cruised, I mean an 7:45-8:20/mi. The entire remaining five miles!! 7:45/mi is faster than my current 5K PR. Needless to say, I was totally ecstatic by the results. I hopped on the computer and calculated what a 8:55/mi average would be : 1:56. Break two hours? PLEASE!!
